THE WEB DESIGN PROCESS

Introduction

Web design can be an intimidating process for the first timer. PAMLICO Web Design will help you through this process in a structured fashion so that all the necessary requirements are developed and met. We use a proven six-step process as shown below:

The most critical step is the first phase. The Client survey determines the purpose of the project, the expected audience, goals for branding and perception, content, technical specifications and communication strategy.

We use a client survey form to develop this information with you. Then we take that information and create a Project Brief and Project and Maintenance plans.

In the next phase, we work with you to create the Site Structure. This is where we identify all the content and map the whole site. The wireframe is a visual tool to show where the various elements fit on the page.

Visual design is where we show you what the site will look like, get your feedback and together arrive at a final approved design.

Now we can take all this information and develop the site for you. Then we extensively test and refine the site, checking content, links and functionality as well as technical issues such as functionality, validation, accessibility and browser compatibility.

Finally we upload the site to your internet host, after completing a style guide that documents the visual standards, naming conventions, site structure and files and templates used.
